Advantages of Tracked Pavers

Provide superior traction and stability on uneven or soft ground, reducing the risk of machine slippage.

Advanced screed technology ensures a uniform asphalt layer thickness for better road quality.

Precision levelling and compaction result in a smoother, more even surface.

Capable of laying large quantities of asphalt quickly, reducing project completion times.

Automates the paving process, minimising the need for manual labour and supervision.

Suitable for various paving applications, including highways, city streets, parking lots, and more.

Tracks distribute the machine's weight more evenly, reducing ground pressure and potential damage to the subgrade.

Tracks allow for better movement on challenging terrains, including slopes and uneven surfaces.

Built to withstand heavy use and harsh conditions, resulting in longer machine lifespan.

Advanced controls and sensors ensure precise material placement and surface quality.

Effective mixing and distribution of asphalt mix help minimize segregation and improve overall pavement quality.

Consistent paving results in fewer bumps and defects, enhancing road safety for drivers.

Hopper
This is a large container located at the front of the paver where the asphalt mix is stored before it is moved by the conveyor chains to the screed. Hydraulically folding hopper wings located on either side make room for dump trucks and increase hopper capacity. They fold in to deliver the last bit of asphalt to the conveyor and make a smaller package for transport.

Conveyor System
The conveyor system transfers the asphalt mix from the hopper to the screed. The conveyor consists of a series of heavy-duty chains and flight bars that move the material at a constant speed. Operation is usually handled by an automatic feed control system such as cut off paddles or switches.

Screed
This is the most critical component of the tracked pavers because it determines the smoothness and uniformity of the final pavement. The screed is pulled by a screed arm located on each side of the paver. The screed plate is responsible for spreading the asphalt mix evenly over the surface, and it's adjustable to allow for different material depths, widths, and grades.

Augers
These screw-like components are located at the rear of the conveyor in front of the screed and control the amount of asphalt mix delivered to the screed extensions. Augers help to ensure that the head of material is uniform and level across the screed's entire width. On wide conveyor pavers augers do not need to be used when paving at standard paving width.

Basic Principles of Tracked Pavers

Preparation: Position the tracked pavers on the prepared base or subgrade, and load the hot asphalt mix into the tracked paver's hopper from a dump truck.

Feeding and Distribution: The auger system inside the tracked pavers draws the asphalt mix from the hopper and distributes it evenly across the width of the tracked pavers, ensuring a consistent spread.

Paving and Levelling: As the tracked pavers advances, the rear-mounted screed levels and compacts the asphalt mix, setting the desired thickness and achieving a smooth surface.

Compaction: After the tracked pavers has laid the asphalt, additional rollers may be used to apply final compaction, enhancing the density and smoothness of the surface.

Finishing: The tracked pavers consistently applies asphalt in a steady flow, maintaining even thickness and a smooth surface finish throughout the entire paving process.

Tracked Pavers Safety Precautions

Regular Inspections

Regularly inspect the tracked pavers for any signs of wear or damage. Promptly address any issues to prevent malfunctions.

Routine Maintenance

Engage in routine maintenance checks on the tracked paver's engine, hydraulic systems, and electronic components to sustain optimal performance.

Safe Operating Practices

Emphasize adherence to speed limits and safe operating practices during paving operations to minimize the risk of accidents.

Packaging and Shipping

We offer multiple shipping methods, including air freight for urgent orders and sea freight for cost-effective bulk deliveries. Standard models are ready for shipment within 1–2 working days, while customized configurations require 15–25 days for production. All machines are thoroughly inspected before delivery.

FAQ

Q: What jobs are tracked pavers best suited for?

A: They are ideal for sites with poor ground conditions, steep areas, soft soil, or places where steady paving performance is required.

Q: How do tracked pavers compare to wheeled pavers?

A: Tracked pavers offer stronger grip and smoother control, especially on rough or unstable surfaces. However, they move slower than wheeled models.

Q: Do tracked pavers provide better paving uniformity?

A: The crawler system helps maintain a consistent machine speed and reduces vibration, which contributes to more uniform paving results.

Q: Are tracked pavers harder to maintain?

A: They require more attention to the track system, including cleaning, track tension checks, and wear inspection, but overall maintenance remains straightforward with regular servicing.
